Psych Out Festival is the brainchild of psychedelic rock poster artist and genius hot-rodder, Giampo Copparoni, beatnik duke of Torino. To know Giampo is to love Giampo. And this is one of the best parties in Italy, and I’m not just saying that because I’ve known Giampo for 20 years.

I’ve made a psychedelic poster for this – the 30th Anniversary of “Psych Out” – a celebration born of everything cool, and good and right in this crazy world. My posters will be showing and available – and who knows a lot of unbelievable things happen these days – let’s just say, there are going to be surprises.

My poster will be available at Psych Out on Saturday, October 5, and a handful at TRPS Festival of Posters on October 19.

“The Psych-Out Party born as a monthly party in 1989, on its twenty-fifth birthday in 2014 turns into an annual festival. What is the Psych-out? Since 1989 In all these years before becoming a festival for five months a year it was a sixties style party where various DJs on their plates send Beat music, Garage, Soul, Surf, Psychedelic, all lit up with the Liquid Light-show (projection of colored oils the classic 60s style) and the mythical “beat go-go dancers”. Transformed into a festival in 2014, the creative research of the Psych-out Family means that within it bands, DJs perform, stage arrangements are taken throughout the festival area, live shows have been illuminated by Brainillusions’ Liquid light show and by the Vinyl Sound and Liquid show club from Switzerland, in the 2018 edition we also created a fashion show curated by Optic Zoo, the Flashback sofa talk shows curated by Lele Roma with lots of characters from the historical Sixites environment, paraphernalia banquets varied, choppers motorcycles on display, and it was the only event in Italy to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love, on that occasion we set up an original American School bus, calling it Psych-out Bus, remembering the “FURTHER” the Magic Bus by Ken Kesey Marry Pranksters.” – Giampo Copparoni
