This is the third year I’ve made a poster for Leftover Salmon’s annual show at the historic, haunted Stanley Hotel, made famous by “The Shining” Stephen King and Stanley Kubrick’s famous horror story.

Meet Danny. Danny has the Shining. Danny has an imaginary little boy named Tony that lives in his mouth and tells him things.

Danny is a talented little boy … perhaps a little too talented … a very willful boy … a rather naughty boy, according to Delbert Grady the former caretaker of the hotel.

Danny likes to ride around the big hotel on his big wheel. Hotel cook Dick Hallorann told him to be careful, “There ain’t nothing in Room 237. Stay out!”

_______________

I’m very proud to announce I created the official poster for the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas. I love the long drive through the Southwest from San Francisco to Austin. Leaving SF in early March and returning after a meandering journey to Texas and back, it’s always a great pleasure to experience the beginning of Spring while catching one of the best music festival’s in the world. My SXSW poster communicates the spirit of hope and spring and music.

Sadly I will not be attending SXSW this year due to a packed schedule, but I will be there in spirit!

My poster will be available officially through SXSW on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 12 noon – at the main merchandising booth outside EH5 / Registration in the Austin Convention Center.

I’ll be making a very limited release of my SXSW poster and it’s variant on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at a random time.

Edwardian Ball 2017 Poster

Edwardian Ball 2017
15 x 35
Edition of 125
3 colors on cream paper
Signed and Numbered

Sold Out – Thank You!
_______________

It’s Edwardian Ball time again, and as always, it’s a great pleasure to work with Justin Katz, the Edwardian Ball impresario, and once again I had a lot of fun making this poster!

My Edwardian Ball posters always have an edge of social critique in them. They are done with a wink and a nod, in keeping with the enjoyment of attending such an elaborate period pageant.

Most of the attendees also realize that the Edwardian era was one of unabashed and ostentatious oligarchy, unrivaled economic imperialism and a presumed European superiority complex. It’s all of these things that makes the period so bizarre to us today. I’ve always endeavored to reveal this outrageous and bizarre sense of imperial entitlement in my Edwardian Ball posters, and keep them wild and fun.

This year my poster depicts Cupid & Psyche, the belle of the ball and her accomplice, looking for her next intended target.
