Spoke Art and Trailers from Hell is proud to announce a very special double feature screening of the 1956 and 1978 versions of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Join Spoke Art this Friday night, April 10th, at the Roxie Theater in San Francisco for these two seminal films, along with a very special Q&A session with the director of the 1978 version, Philip Kaufman, moderated by Sam Hamm.

As a special bonus, Spoke Art will also be offering two brand new limited edition prints by Chuck Sperry (pictured above) and David Moscati, available for purchase during the intermission.

“I wanted to articulate the feeling of alienation in this great city that most San Franciscans have been struggling with over the last few years, and Philip Kaufman’s brilliant film has given me the vehicle to express what’s on everybody’s mind in poster form.” – Sperry

I designed and printed three separate, but matching, posters (one for each night) for Widespread Panic’s three night engagement at The Fox in Oakland.

The thematic tryptich is based on the Three Graces: Splendor, Mirth, and Good Cheer.
These classic ideas perfectly describe a good Widespread Panic show!

All three of the posters have the three dates on them.
Each one was offered exclusively for only one night.

The posters were not printed together, but each one at a time, created as three separate posters, on highest quality shimmering gold metallic paper.
I thought that in this way – everyone gets a cool poster with all the dates – but there is also that extra coolness that they are different each night.

I wanted to do something extra cool, and labor intensive, for this special Widespread Panic appearance!

From Fast Times: “True legend of Australian music, Nick Cave has teamed up with Fast Times to produce an exciting and rad collection! After discussing lyrics and a theme, It was agreed Nature Boy best suited the Melbourne Skate Scene and vibe of Fast Times. The Lyrics are taken from ‘Nature Boy’ A track from’s Nick’s ‘Abattoir Blues’ Album which also is featured in the accompanying Fast Times Skate clip.”

“Chuck Sperry is the artist behind this project and has done many of Nick Cave’s tour posters. Hailing from San Francisco, he has worked alongside many other music greats to create some truly unique and iconic pieces of art. The board features a full wrap graphic that uses a metallic glitter (inspired by old school motorbike helmets) to highlight the intricate detail of Chuck’s artwork. It runs throughout the board and gives the board a unique texture and feel. It also features lyrics chosen by ourselves and Nick to reflect the theme of the graphic.”

“We are stoked to have worked with Chuck on this limited edition collection!”  — Fast Times
