My “Alpha” & “Omega” art prints, variant editions and birch panels will be released on Friday, May 18, at 4:20 pm by Varnish Fine Art at San Francisco’s coolest art festival – ArtPad at the Phoenix Hotel.

Varnish & I will be making a very limited online release here on my site on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at a random time.

FYI – I sometimes post a digital image before I have a chance to photograph the actual poster. This digital image is used to create the poster and is used to show the band what I will make – before I make it. When possible, I like to show the actual photograph, like the one just below, so people can actually see what the poster looks like. Enough said. The show was awesome last night!

I’ve been playing Gold On The Ceiling – and it’s become a sort of theme song.
With the Firehouse’s innovation of the use of Gold and Silver metallic inks, which we started using almost 18 years ago,
the gold on the ceiling lyrics have a special place in my heart. The Black Keys are written across the gold ceiling in my poster.
I also created a custom Black Keys wallpaper and dress pattern which works throughout the design:

“I Stood In The Blue Darkness” will be made available at The Flood Gallery opening of “Class of ’72” Art Show, Thursday, May 3, 2012; and will be available online through The Flood Gallery the following day, Friday, May 4, 2012.

“I Stood In The Blue Darkness” is based on the Apollo 17 moon landing, and is inspired by Astronaut Gene Cernan’s quote:

“I stood in the blue darkness and looked in awe at the Earth from the lunar surface. What I saw was almost too beautiful to grasp”

 

Gene Cernan was the last human being to set foot on the moon, a feat he accomplished in December, 1972.

He also holds the records for longest time spent in lunar EVA, most ground covered in lunar EVA,

lunar land-speed record in his LRV – or “moon buggy” (11.2 mph),

highest yield in moon rock recovery (244 pounds).

If I were to get to hitch a ride on any of Apollo’s Moon Landings, Apollo 17 would be my ride. That Moon Buggy must have been a riot!
