From Conscious Alliance:
“The String Cheese Incident and Conscious Alliance are excited to announce that we are hosting an ‘Art That Feeds’ Food Drive at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 21-23, 2017!
To commemorate the past 15 years of ‘Art That Feeds’ Food Drives with The String Cheese Incident, Conscious Alliance has teamed up with artist Chuck Sperry – Rock Art Illustration to create this special limited-edition poster for their upcoming three night run at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre this week July 21-23 in Colorado. Support the cause and take home this beauty!!!
Artist Chuck Sperry has created this beautiful, limited-edition poster masterpiece for this very special 3-night run on the beautiful Red Rocks of Colorado! The poster will be available to patrons who are first to donate 20 non-perishable food items or a suggested monetary donation to the food drive.
HOW TO DONATE: All food donations will be collected at the Trading Post where Conscious Alliance volunteers will accept your non-perishable food donations or suggested monetary donation in exchange for the ‘Art That Feeds’ event poster. We will also have a booth inside at the top of the venue throughout the show where patrons can make a monetary donation for the poster.
The Conscious Alliance booth at the Trading Post will open at 4:30PM on Friday & Saturday, and at 2:30PM on Sunday. Our second booth located inside the venue will be open throughout the show.
Our Impact
- Since 2002, we have distributed over 2.3 million meals to food banks nationwide.
- We distribute bags of groceries to 50 families every week through our Food Sovereignty and Youth Empowerment Center on Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.
- Our ‘Art That Feeds’ Food Drives serve as a youth empowerment platform, generating over 7,000 hours of volunteer time and over 65,000 meals annually.
- Our school garden program offers over 700 students at Pine Ridge School in South Dakota access to learn how to garden as well as enjoy the healthy harvest.
- Our family garden program makes fresh produce a reality for over 35 people who live on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. This community has only one full-service grocery store.
- Since 2015, all 250 students at Loneman School on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation receive nourishment for the weekend through our ‘Bring Nutrition Home’ backpack program. This is one of the nation’s first all-natural backpack programs and it serves a school where 100% of the students are on Free or Reduced Lunch and nearly half are homeless. The program is made possible by generous donations from our natural food sponsors.
- Once a quarter, we host a Free Store on the Pine Ridge Reservation in SD to provide clothing, bedding, and other basic-necessities to family in need. Our Free Stores are generously supported by individuals and major partners such as Bed Bath and Beyond, PrAna, Montrail, and Mountain Hardware and distribute over $60,000 worth of goods.
- Our ‘Art that Feeds’ workshops inspire and empower youth through connecting them with art and music. The workshops vary from making art out of repurposed skateboards to creating a Lakota hand-drum from scratch, however, in all the workshops, art or music are used as the vehicle that engage the younger generation in activities that will increase their self-esteem and inspire the use of their talents and aspirations.
- Over 200 youth have participated in our ‘Art that Feeds’ workshops. These workshops use art or music as the vehicle to engage the younger generation in activities that will increase their self-esteem and inspire the use of their talents and aspirations.”
