Legends Gather at TRPS Festival of Posters 2025

Join us October 18, 2025 for The Rock Poster Society, Festival of Posters in San Francisco’s beautiful Golden Gate Park.

I will not be able to attend TRPS Festival of Rock Posters on Saturday, October 18, 2025, but my well-seasoned “dream team” of Jon, Ron and Rob will represent and smoothly operate my booth – with all my newest rock posters, art prints, test prints, rarities and surprises! So you will be able to acquire my work for sure!

I’ll have a very limited offering of my most very recent posters: Widespread Panic “Juno” •  Dave Matthews, “Courage” • Alabama Shakes at the Hollywood Bowl • art print “Danaide” •  and other rarities and classics. Also, I’ll have a nice selection of blotter art, and a new surprise release!

Of course, I’ll have available copies of my 750+ page rock poster compendium: “Color x Color, The Sperry Poster Archive 1980-2020”.

San Francisco’s annual Fall Classic, the The Rock Poster Society’s Festival of Rock Posters is set to go for Saturday, October 18th, 2025 at the San Francisco County Fair Building (aka Hall of Flowers) in beautiful Golden Gate Park.

Featuring legendary rock poster artists and dealers from around the country, this is the biggest rock poster event of its kind anywhere. Those of you who have attended this show in the past know that this is the one not to miss. We bring in the best of the best, and you’ll find everything from vintage psychedelic treasures to the best of the modern silkscreen movement. This year’s version promises to offer another stellar lineup.

The location is at the corner of Ninth and Lincoln on the South edge of the Park, not far from the Haight, the DeYoung Museum, and the Academy of Sciences. There are plenty of great restaurants close by, too. Make it a weekend and bring the family to enjoy the great weather, an awesome poster event, and everything else San Francisco has to offer.

Festival of Rock Posters: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Hall of Flowers, Ninth Avenue and Lincoln Way, Golden Gate Park.

Cooper Hewitt Opens “Art of Noise” December 12 • Sperry On View

Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum • Opens Art of Noise December 12

Art of Noise • Cooper Hewitt • December 12 – July 19, 2026
Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum
2 East 91st Street • New York, NY 10128

Art of Noise at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum is a multi-sensory love song to the designers who devote their artistic vision to music.

Music is a part of our daily lives. By contemplating how music is amplified by art — the design of album covers and concert posters — Cooper Hewitt’s upcoming exhibition Art of Noise shows us how profoundly this art has shaped our experience of the rhythms and melodies we listened to for over 100 years.

A floor-to-ceiling “temple” of music design — including many hundreds of San Francisco’s psychedelic rock posters and  — will feature rock poster artists and legendary bands of every description. Mid-century modern album covers, as well as hip-hop, punk, and rave flyers complete this expansive display of incredible color and creativity. For Cooper Hewitt’s presentation, the exhibition also includes printed and graphic materials from New York’s folk, rock, disco, salsa, punk, new wave and hip-hop scenes that have become embedded in the collective memory of countless listeners.

Art of Noise is not to be missed by any fan of art and music! This massive exhibition celebrates the icons of concert posters including Victor Moscoso, Wes Wilson, Chuck Sperry, David Singer, Lee Conklin, Bonnie MacLean, Milton Glaser and many others.

Art of Noise is organized by SFMOMA and curated by Joseph Becker, associate curator of architecture and design, with Divya Saraf, former curatorial assistant in architecture and design. The New York presentation of “Art of Noise” is curated by Becker with assistance from Cynthia Trope, associate curator of product design and decorative arts, Cooper Hewitt.

The exhibition opens Friday, December 12 at the museum. You can learn more about this amazing exhibition by following the link below.

Widespread Panic Richmond “Juno” Poster Wins Award

My Widespread Panic “Juno” Poster has been voted Poster of the Week by Expressobeans members. Thanks to all my supporters, I super appreciate it! Many thanks to Expressobeans.com.

Commissioned by Widespread Panic for two legendary nights at the Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront, Richmond, Virginia, my poster was revealed on the first night as a secret surprise, and sold out by the time the shows ended.

“Juno, Queen of the Gods, graces my Widespread Panic poster for Richmond, Virginia. Mother Goddess, central to the earliest rites that dressed our beliefs in human form. Dancing and losing oneself in music connects us to one of the earliest forms of ritual practice.” — Chuck Sperry

We are the good people
The ones they told you about
One kiss of mother nature
Her spirit waits in light

“My new poster muse for Dave Matthews Band is named “Courage”. I want my work to provoke meditation and emotional responses to its bold colors, balance and symmetry — to give courage, light and beauty to all of us trapped in an ugly historical moment. I think of my work from the last few years as defiant in these dark times. I like to think I give people courage through it. It gives me courage to work on it.” – Chuck Sperry
