“3.5 Million Inadequately Housed in France: What if Rock was engaged on their side?”
POSTER WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE LATER IN AUGUST – A PORTION OF PROCEEDS TO GO TO ABBE PIERRE FOUNDATION.
Earlier this summer I was asked to donate a rock poster design for the Abbe Pierre Foundation in France on the subject of Homelessness. The idea was to raise awareness at rock shows that 3,500,000 people are homeless or inadequately housed in France. These posters will go out all over France at 5 international music festivals to inspire people to sign Abbe Pierre’s Anti-Homelessness manifesto.
Abbe Pierre, a Catholic priest, was a tireless Conscientious Objector in France, fought in the Resistance during World War II, and saved many Jews and Political Undesirables from Concentration Camps. After the War, Abbe Pierre organized The Emmaus Movement, an international organization aimed at helping the Poor, Homeless and Refugeed.
In the 1990’s Abbe Pierre called real estate developers “salopards” (assholes), and joined in the taking of unoccupied buildings in France for the poor, undocumented and homeless.
Abbe Pierre is one of the most popular figures in France; he fought for homeless rights since 1949.

Really cool Chuck, thanks a lot!
Even though he died 2 years ago I’m glad people in France are keeping his legacy alive.
