Man oh man, Hank 3 rocked the house tonight. What a fun show! And what a cool mob at the gig. For this one, I busted out a San Francisco gold miner, gun in belt, axe on shoulder. It is based on a San Francisco paint company logo from the 1920’s. I felt Hank would relate, being an independent soul, and having fought for his claim – especially right now on the eve of releasing 6 debut independent records on his own label.

TRPS presents:
Rock Art By The Bay at The Cannery
Saturday August 18, 2012 from 10:00am — 6:00pm
The Rock Poster Society (TRPS) is pleased to announce the rock poster art event of the summer! TRPS presents Rock Art By the Bay on Saturday August 18, 2012 at the Cannery near San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf. The show will run from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission: FREE
I’ll be attending TRPS Rock Art By The Bay at The Cannery. It’s going to be a busy weekend.
Tonight, Thursday, August 16, 2012 I’ll be making a rare showing of my art pieces on wood panel at Varnish Fine Art Gallery at 16 Jessie Street, San Francisco. Pieces sold at Varnish benefit Visual Aid, so it is definitely for a really great cause. Come tonight, it’ll make a great pre-TRPS social event, and you can have a look at “Alpha,” “Omega,” “Cosmos,” and “Mind Spring,” and bring one home for a good cause!
I’ve got some news to share regarding some exclusive releases for the Rock Art by the Bay.
I’ll be making some never released artist proofs and very limited variants available on a one per person basis only to participants of the exposition on Saturday, August 18, 2012. There are some surprises here:
This exclusive release is only available at TRPS Rock Art by the Bay, August 18, 2012.

Varnish Fine Art welcomes you to an evening of cocktails and hors d’oevres with gallery artists Jennybird Alcantara, Isabel Samaras, Ransom&Mitchell and Chuck Sperry plus representatives from Visual Aid. Varnish Fine Art and their artists are proud supporters of Visual Aid and their mission to encourage artists with life-threatening illnesses to continue their work. The gallery presents a unique exhibit of contemporary artwork for this event, and one quarter of all art sales will be donated to Visual Aid, a San Francisco organization founded in 1989 by a group of passionately concerned artists, collectors and art dealers to serve artists affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Today, Visual Aid supports the creative work of artists whose careers are challenged because of any life-threatening illness. Along with exhibitions in the Visual Aid Gallery and corporate spaces, Visual Aid provides grants, free art supplies and community to artists in need.
Chuck Sperry lives in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco, where he’s made his particular style of rock poster designs for over 20 years. He operates Hangar 18, a silkscreen print studio, located in Oakland. Learn More…
